Super Bowl Decor!
I think my favorite is the estate sale find -- those snack plates are fab -- for one dollar a piece! Also, here's pro tip -- some of the Super Bowl commercials are already being released. Do yourself a favor and watch the Budweiser commercial. I loved it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_mh-v02-Tw

My Friend Amie from Marymount!
It started as a tutorial for Amie so she could get her sea legs using imovie. But it turned out to be a fun chat that I thought you would like to see! In any case, 36 years working in the same place. serving young women, and forming them into strong confident humans and Spanish speakers...is an honorable and admirable vocation. Thank you, Amie, for your life's work. Let us know when you start your own blog!

Bagel Board!
I got caught up in hosting and didn't take enough pictures or video. I often have this trouble. And the reason is that I am not a "calculated" content creator. I literally create content around what I do evetyday. There is no pretense, no rehearsal, and probably not enough thought behind it all. But that's the point of this blog. It's about my real life. And if my real life gets in the way of filming for blog content, I always just live my life, and forget about creating cont

Los Angeles Central Library: Celebrating 100 Years!
What a delighful day. Our friend, Paul, invited us to tour the library with him; he's been a Central Library Docent since 2019. His depth of knowledge and passion for this special place shone through in every area of the tour. But even if you don't take a tour of the Central Library with a docent, a tour is definitely in order. It's a spectacular, historic space, which we have very few of in Los Angeles. In the upcoming year, there will lots of exhibits (there's several exhi

Jolly Bounce House !
Jolly Bouncers is the name of the company that provided the bouncer that we rented. The company was terrific. Here's the link for the company, just in case... https://jollybouncers.com/4-in-1-Space-Saver-Unicorn-E20.html . They communicated well, were friendly, responsive, texted their ETA, and provided the best sparkly rainbow bouncer, just like Gracie wanted. It was a delightful day. And a perfect backyard party.

My Dad's Coin Collection!
What a fun adventure, courtesy of my dad! I do remember my father, always peeking in the cash registers during our shopping excursions, and asking if there were any silver dollars to be had. And when he got a Silver Certificate dollar as change, he was delighted, and immediately tucked it into his collection! I'm not sure what he ever intended to do with the collection, but I KNOW that he would be delighted that his daughter turned them in on the day that the price of silver

Democracy Man!
Did I know in 1981 when I married this guy, how special he really was? Of course I did! But I'm still proud of that decision to say "I do." And I've been proud of him ever since.

The Day After the Renee Good Murder and The Day After That
I recorded the first video on Thursday night. And then went to bed. I decided not to publish it. I was despondent, and didn't want to inflict that on you. But before I took myself to bed, I asked Robert if there was any place to protest the next day. A few minutes later he said that there was a "pop up" protest on the 101 Freeway overpass. I said, "Let's go." So that's how it all came about. And I'm telling you that being on that overpass was important for two reasons. 1)

Quilting Beauty!
So many hours spent in creating these artistic beauties. It was a delight to see Dottie's many quilts. The quilt in the thumbnail above was my favorite, though it is hard to choose because the quilts were all so beautiful in very different ways. Attention to detail, and a passion for the work, no matter the discipline, are always qualities that I admire. Dottie's eztraordinary quilts show both of these characteristics. They owe their beauty to a devotion to craft rare in thes

Irises in January!
Busy days, but this week whenver I walk outside into my front garden, I am astonished by the beatuy of my irises! And I just cannot help myself. I just start taking pictures, even though I probably took the same pictures last year! It doesn't matter. They give my joy every time they bloom. But especially now. We need beauty to sustain us.

A Fun Day at the Autry Museum!
I recommend for the grandchildren! Museums can be rough for the littles, but this museum is really great for the grands. There's lots of hands on activites, lots of fun things to see that make sense to tiny ones, lots of color and sound, and a large play area in the middle of the museum! It doesn't get better than that!
