Robert and I ducked out of town for a few days after the wedding, to relax, and rejuvenate before beginning again -- and before we start our holiday partying!
We did lots of nothing, and only what we wanted. Hiking, baking, reading, walking, chatting. Sometimes I am surprised that Robert and I never get tired of spending time together...after all of our years of marriage. It's one of the blessings of our lives.
It was my last weekend on the mountain for the season. We have to close the cabin in late fall because the park doesn't plow the road in the winter, and so the road is impassable. It's just not possible to visit the cabin, unless you have a snowmobile!
It's always hard to say goodbye to the cabin in the fall - or anytime really, because it's a very special place, and we never know when we may return. Life is so unpredictable.
But for this one perfect weekend, life was perfectly predictable. We did exactly what we wanted, and enjoyed every minute.
