New Day Pansies

As I write this, election returns are slowly coming in, Robert is monitoring them on his computer, and I am watching "Pretty Woman" with Julia Roberts. I just couldn't watch the returns.

Today I spent the day in the garden, puttering. It helped to be outside, thinking about what needs trimming, where to transplant the rosemary, and planning where to put the new daffodil bulbs - dreaming of spring.

Sometimes just looking at the flowers and walking in the garden provides a feeling of calm, and hopefulness that distracts from the anxious moment. So today, no matter the outcome of yesterday, enjoy spending time in my garden, close to growing things, and the hope of the spring that we know will come.

Your new border looks so beautiful. I'm impressed how quickly you transitioned from summer to Halloween to Thanksgiving and fall colors. I don't have a border, but you've inspired me to transition some big pots we've got in front of our house. Thank you, Jill.
