Angelyne is a Los Angeles icon. And Angelyne sightings are always a fun thing here in the Valley. I talk a little about her history in the video -- but in the last few years, a journalist found out who she really is. I'm sure you're not surprised that her real name is not Angelyne.
Her fame came very intentionally, and suddenly, for a very crazy reason. Billboards on Sunset Blvd. But that was in 1984. Her Wikipedia page says that she is currently 70 years old. It also says that she is the daughter of Polish Holocaust survivors She grew up in the Fairfax District here in Los Angeles and went to James Monroe High School as Renee Tami Goldberg.
A biographical TV series is slated to air on the Peacock channel soon - that should be interesting!
