I had never been on the White House Tour, and I was so glad to be able to visit when the Bidens are in residence. Since the term of John and Jackie Kennedy, it has been referred to as "The People's House," and there is something very American about that.
I was very emotional during the visit knowing that I was walking the halls and visiting the rooms where so many historic occurrences had taken place.
The portraits were particularly moving to me. Hillary. Michelle. John. Abraham. Obama. All heroes of democracy, protecting our freedoms, and taking care of the people in a myriad of different ways.
Honestly. I didn't know I would feel this way. But in retrospect, it was one of my favorite things ever. The visit of a lifetime.
