Thank you to all of you who asked after the status of our cabin. We are still hopeful, though the early part of the weekend was especially difficult. Things looked a little better Sunday night, and the weather has begun to cooperate some, as temperatures have dropped.
Each morning for the past week, the Chief Operations Officer for the KNP Fire has given a report via Facebook about the progress of the fire and the work of the firefighters. John Wallace, from Georgia, the COO has done a fabulous job, and we have been grateful for the excellent communication. It has augmented our understanding of the fire, as there are things that the digital fire mapping cannot tell us.
We will continue to go about our daily lives, with thoughts of our little cabin always in our thoughts. With our eyes on the map, and hope in our hearts, we start the week preparing for whatever comes.
Blessings for you, your precious cabin, your neighbors in this mountain community, and the firefighters, of course. Your updates are so appreciated.
What a stressful situation for you and your family. May the winds be in your cabin's favor and the fire crews be successful in sparing your cabin from the flames. Sending prayers.
