San Antonio's ALAMO by the Numbers!

For Texans, the Battle of the Alamo is a symbol of their resistance to oppression and their struggle for independence. The Battle of the Alamo and its aftermath changed the course of United States history.

I had visited the Alamo sometime ago when I was in San Antonio for an education conference. At that time, the artifacts were housed in the long barrack, and were poorly conserved.

The new Alamo Exhibition Hall is a finely curated museum, a far cry from the previous collection. Phil Collins may just have inspired that!

An educational and interesting visit -- but if you go -- do get reservations to visit inside the Alamo (previously Mission de San Antonio de Valero, before it was secularized). It's worth the time.

Tomorrow, we're off to see the eclipse! Hoping for clear skies!
