Olympic Fever!

I buried the lead in the video -- our Jenny was born August 2nd!!! Two days after the Opening Ceremonies. And I remember watching the Olympic events in the delivery room!

I'll just say that at the time it felt like a huge sacrifice -- to have missed the opening ceremonies when they were just across the city from us. But it was a sacrifice that we were willing to make.

And, Jenny was worth it! We were overjoyed with our new bundle and never looked back. And we remember that joy every Olympics. Blessed!

Wonderful that you've saved all those mementoes from the 1984 Olympic Games in LA!

I, too, remember those days, the excitement everywhere, and the streets devoid of traffic. Our son was born on July 30, 1980, so for his fourth birthday, we hosted an Olympics party in our backyard for a crowd of kids and grown-ups with games, contests, etc. I, too, stocked up on Olympic paraphernalia and kept some of the nicer items. Maybe some day they'll be worth something! 😊
