It's always an adventure going up the road! And it's been even more of an adventure during the road construction. But the final product is a joy to travel! And to think that the original Mineral King Road was built in the 1870's using manual labor, draft animals (horses and mules with freight and grading wagons), basic hand tools (picks, shovels, and rock drills), and blasting powder/explosives to carve a shelf through the rugged granite and steep canyons of the East Fork Kaweah River.
Thank you to those that came before us, and those that recently labored to make this road possible for us to travel up to our Silver City cabin retreat!
