Making Lussekatter - and wishing you Happy Holidays!

Happy Holiday Dear Readers,

Just a quick note tonight to tell you how grateful I am for your support, encouragement, and lovely missives as we have journeyed together these past 6 months.

I’ve produced about 125 videos over the last 6 months, and I have enjoyed making each one because I knew that you might be viewing it! Sharing my garden, my cooking, and my celebrations with you has blunted the isolation of quarantining for me. Being able to talk to you, like you were in my kitchen, or in my garden next to me, has been a joy I did not expect.

So even though many of you express your gratitude to me, really I think that it is me that is most grateful for you. With you by my side, gardening, cooking, and party planning, I feel like I have friends to share with – and it makes my heart glad.

I wish you the happiest of holidays – even in these difficult times, there is much to be grateful for – and you are chief among them!

I generally follow my husband’s writing schedule, so I will be back next Monday with another video and blog as we prepare for the New Year, and check in on my winter garden.

Let me know if you make Lussekatter! It’s not difficult – but it takes time! I would crush the saffron before immersing it into the milk, and if you decide to plump the raisins, be sure to dry them, otherwise they get the dough all wet!

Here's the recipe I used:

Sparkle on! Jill
