Irises were my mom's favorite flower so they hold a special place in my heart, and my garden. I've have LOTS of irises my garden, and they are all gorgeous!
So gorgeous in fact, that I can't go outside without taking a picture! I've taking many, many pictures this season, and I am delighted each time I do. I only regret that they only bloom once a season.
This video took a very long time to prepare because, as you can imagine, irises bloom in their own time, and few have bloomed at the same time. Blooms began early March (The Lion King Iris), and the last bloom was today (Grateful Red) though I now see that there will be at least another bloom coming! But I just couldn't wait to share them with you.
I guess I will just have to keep taking pictures!
I have bought most of my irises from Scheiner's Iris Garden, a company that specializes in iris bulbs.
Scheiner's sends each of their bulbs with a tag that includes the picture and the name - so when they bloom, I can match the picture with the flower, and that makes me happy too.
It's all a joy. And I am so happy to share them with you!
