I keep thinking about the Ishiguro book. There's lots of amazing things about this book. The intricacies of the characters' relationships, the authenticity of their voices, the unique method of narration which uses flashback to inform the forward movement of the narrative. So many good things about this book. So, it might be for you. Let me know if you've read it - and how you thought about it!
But honestly, you need to buy the audiobook of Belle Burden's book. It's almost a cultural touchstone that says so much about our society. And so much about the resilience of women.
