I just LOVE baseball! (You may already know that...) And being in a baseball park is close to heaven for me -- even if it's not my team.
When I was growing up, my parents took me to Dodger Stadium several times a month during the season...and I have very fond memories of my time there. And pennants from every team they played! The California Angels played at Dodger Stadium until 1965, so I was 9 years old when they left, and all those baseball games - Dodgers and Angels alike, left an indelible impression on me.
I am grateful to my parents for instilling in me a love of baseball because it has been a great source of joy in my life (also lots of heartache!) I've tried to convert my 3 daughters into baseball fans, but I didn't do as good of a job as my parents did, I'm afraid. I might try again with my granddaughters!
Dodger Stadium has changed a lot since my youth, but it is a legendary place, and Walter O'Malley's vision is still very clear. Plus, there are remembrances of Dodger victories, & Dodger greats, throughout the park. There are also lots of fun places to eat and play, including a Shake Shack, and jungle gyms for the littles! When I was a frequent visitor to Dodger Stadium, Farmer John's Dodger Dogs were the meal choice of most fans!
When I visit a baseball park, I generally just head for my seat, and then make a beeline to the concessions, so it was fun to see all of the entertainment, and festivities that are new additions to the Dodger Stadium. It was a great day to tour a legendary place.
I'll share my tour of the Dodger Stadium gardens this week!
